MIDDLE SCHOOL
The Upper Room, a youth group for middle school students, meets Sundays from 9:15 to 10:15 a.m. There are group-building games/activities and faith discussions themed around "The ABCs for Tweens," using movie clips from popular movies. Members of First English and their friends are always welcome.
HIGH SCHOOL:
Flashpoint!: - Flashpoint, a youth group for high school students, meets Sunday evenings from 6:00 to 8:30 p.m. There are group-building games and activities, faith discussions, movie nights, and "destinations unknown" (mini-adventures) that happen each month. Members of First English and their friends are always welcome.
Confirmation Classes
Wednesday evening Confirmation classes are held from September to May for 8th and 9th graders, 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Following an opening in the gym, the pastors present topics from the Bible and Luther Small Catechism. Then small groups are formed and the youth meet with adult mentors to discuss the content. Confirmation is held on a Sunday in mid May of the 9th grade year, with a family dinner on the prior Wednesday. Students are encouraged to participate even more fully in the life of the church as they live out their own commitment to Christ. Seventh-grade confirmation is included with the Upper Room, who meet on Sundays @ 9:15 a.m.
